Attorney David Geffen has joined Ropes & Gray LLP. Geffen was formerly with Dechert and co-authored the paper, "The Systemic Risk of Money Market Funds: Another Approach."

Fidelity Investment's Bob Litterst, long-time Portfolio Manager of Fidelity Cash Reserves, the industry's largest fund, and Money Market CIO, will be retiring at year-end. Tim Huyck will take over as Money Market CIO.

John Bennie, formerly with ICD, is now Head of Liquidity Solutions at Mint Partners, which is affiliated with brokerage BGC Partners.

We learned from U.K. website InvestmentWeek that European and IMMFA money fund veteran Chris Oulton recently passed away at the age of 55. Oulton was previously with Investec, Insight and Prime Rate Capital Management and was instrumental in the formation of IMMFA and the money fund industry in Europe. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends and associates. He will be missed.

Bill Lista, Jeff Palermo, Jim Powers, Ed Rovegno, and Garrett Roberts have joined Guggenheim Securities "to bolster its money-market and other short-duration sales and trading business." They all previously worked at Barclays (except Powers, who was at CS), and will report to Senior MD & Head of Rates Robert Boyd.

Online money market fund "portal" veteran John Carter has joined JP Morgan in its Cash & Liquidity Markets (CALM) group focusing on international business.

The Investment Company Institute named David Blass its General Counsel. Blass is currently chief counsel and associate director of the Division of Trading and Markets at the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Invesco's Dave Taylor, who managed the Dublin and Luxembourg-registered "offshore" money market funds, will retire and will be succeeded by Paul Mueller we learned from an article in FT Advisor.

Randy Harrison has left Citi. His responsibilities as Head of Money Markets have been taken over by Adam Lollos (Head USCP trader) and Bill Quill (Head Short term Sales).

Rick Holland is now leading Charles Schwab Investment Management's Money Fund Product team. Andrew Tong, Ryan Utsumi, Roanne Andrade and Ellen Lee now report to Rick, who reports to John Sturiale, SVP of Product Management.

Senior Portfolio Manager Bill Anderson departed from BNP Paribas and subsidiary, Fischer Francis Trees & Watts (FFTW) last last year.

J.P. Morgan Securities' John Durso and Jim Ryan have expanded their roles. Durso is now head of Americas Investor Services Sales & Marketing for Asset Managers; he previously managed the Short Duration and Generalist Sales teams. He reports jointly to Chris Lynch and Rich Stephenson. Ryan is also getting a bigger role, heading the Short Duration Sales team; he reports to Howard Rothberg.

Former SEC Commissioner Troy Paredes has joined PwC. A press release explains, "Troy A. Paredes has joined PwC US as a senior strategy & policy advisor in the firm's financial services regulatory practice. He will advise client boards of directors and senior executives with regard to business strategy, governance, risk management, and other areas."

Nancy Prior has been appointed President of Fidelity Investment's Fixed Income division. She previously oversaw the Money Market unit, and will now add the Bond division to her role.

Christopher Stavrakos is no longer with BlackRock.

A statement says, "J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) today announced that Paula Stibbe has been appointed as Head of Global Liquidity Sales, Asia Pacific, succeeding the previous role of Travis Spence."

European money fund veteran Mark Stockley is no longer with BlackRock. The London-based Stockley was previously with J.P. Morgan Asset Management.

Viktoria Baklanova is now Senior Financial Analyst at Office of Financial Research, U.S. Department of Treasury. She was previously with Acacia Capital and with Fitch Ratings prior to that.

Bill Hoppe has joined BNY Mellon's Global Liquidity Services team. Hoppe was previously with Arrowhead Financial Consultants and Invesco.
