An SEC press release says, "The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Jennifer B. McHugh has been named Senior Advisor to the Director in its Division of Investment Management. McHugh will work for Director of the Division of Investment Management's Norm Champ.

Securities & Exhange Commission Chairman Mary Schapiro will resign next month. The SEC's press release says, "After nearly four years in office, SEC Chairman Mary L. Schapiro today announced that she will step down on Dec. 14, 2012. Chairman Schapiro, who became chairman in the wake of the financial crisis in January 2009, strengthened, reformed, and revitalized the agency." SEC Commissioner Elisse Walter will be appointed the new SEC Chairman.

The Investment Company Institute has named Mike McNamee its Chief Public Communications Officer.

Corporate communications veteran Ivy McLemore has left Invesco after a 20-year career to "embark on new opportunities".

State Street Global Advisors is seeking a Senior Cash Sales Representative to "Market SSgA's global institutional cash management products and solutions to corporate treasury departments and other institutional cash investors located [on the] US West Coast."

Susan Schiefelbein has started at a Managing Director at Castle Oak Securities. She was previously at BofA Global.

Steve Kraus, formerly with Bank of Ireland, started last week with Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank on the Sales Desk with Jim Sheehan and Pierre Watiez.

An article appearing in the publication Investment Europe and entitled, "J.P.Morgan boosts money market fund sales team in Germany and Austria" says, "J.P.Morgan Asset Management's global liquidity department has hired Peter Pergovacz for German and Austrian sales, however he takes on the role in a climate so challenging for European cash funds that some managers, including at J.P. Morgan, have capped inflows."

An SEC press release says, "The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Robert E. Plaze, the Deputy Director of the Division of Investment Management, is retiring from public service at the end of August after almost 30 years at the SEC.... Mr. Plaze was most recently responsible for rulemaking for money market mutual funds and to implement a Dodd-Frank Act requirement for hedge fund and other private fund advisers to register with the SEC."

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced that Norm Champ "has been named Director of the agency's Division of Investment Management."

The U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission is seeking an Attorney Adviser (Money Market Fund Specialist) for its Division of Investment Management (Office of Investment Company Regulation) located in Washington, DC.

Tom Nelson has been named Chief Investment Officer at Reich & Tang. Money fund-veteran Nelson is "responsible for the management and oversight of the firm's money market and separately managed account portfolios" and reports to Reich & Tang's Chief Executive Officer Michael Lydon.

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced that Eileen Rominger, Director of the Division of Investment Management, will retire in July.

A statement says, "State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) has appointed Michael Spellman as regional sales director, global cash, reporting to Barry F.X. Smith, senior managing director and global head of SSgA's cash business. Michael joined SSgA from BlackRock, where he was director and national sales manager for cash management."

State Street's Fund Connect is seeking a "Money Market Fund Trading Principal" according to website Simply Hired. It says the company is, "Looking for candidate to head up State Street Fund Connect's trade/ops desk. Fund Connect is State Street's global online money market fund trading portal."

Paul Rice has joined Invesco as National Director of Liquidity Sales. Rice was previously with Deutsche Bank.

Frank Sansone, formerly Treasurer & Head of Cash & Liquidity, is no longer with Dexia Credit Local.

Kathy Strawn is retiring from her role in Global Cash Management from the Exxon Mobil Corporation at the end of April. We wish her well!

After almost 23 years at GE, Steve Velluto, MD of Corporate Investments, will be retiring at the end of the month. We wish him well!

Michael Breuer has joined Invesco as a portfolio manager in its Cash Management group. Mr. Breuer was previously with the Investment Company Institute.

Fidelity Investments has promoted Mark Flaherty "to the newly created business management position of Fixed Income Chief Investment Officer, U.K." says a press release. Fidelity and its subsidiary, Pyramis, "continue to expand their global fixed income capabilities" says the statement.
